Blue Hour Blood Moon

770.00

On January 31, 2018 the Super Blue Blood Moon occurred. This was a special showing for multiple reasons. Blood moons are relatively rare to begin with and this one happened to coincide with the perigee (the point at which the moon is closest to earth making it appear much larger). It also happened to be a blue moon which is the second full moon within a single month. The old saying “once in a blue moon” refers to how rare it occurs. As if all that wasn’t enough, this particular blood moon occurred during blue hour giving the sky a beautiful even blue hue as opposed to the typical black sky you would see with blood moon photographs. The star above the moon is Regulus.
